Meet Jane M. Braugh
Experienced Product Liability Trial Attorney
Originally from Sarita, Texas, Jane M. Braugh received her B.A. in English from the University of Kentucky before attending law school at the University of Houston Law Center. During law school, Ms. Braugh studied abroad in Innsbruck Austria and Mexico City, Mexico, where she completed a law internship at Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), Mexico’s state-owned petroleum company.
After obtaining her juris doctorate degree, Ms. Braugh was appointed as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas in the Financial Crimes Division, and practiced in Austin, Texas from May 1995 through December 1999. While an Assistant Attorney General, Ms. Braugh co-authored the Texas County and District Attorney’s Practice Guide on Asset Seizure and Forfeiture, drafted proposed legislation and testified before Legislative committees regarding pending legislation.
Ms. Braugh opened the California office of Sico Hoelscher Harris LLP in March 2007. Ms. Braugh handles a variety of complex litigation matters arising in the western United States, Mexico, and throughout the State of California and Texas, including automotive and tire defect litigation, trucking negligence cases, and other catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death matters. Sico Hoelscher Harris LLP’s California practice also includes cases involving insurance bad faith, elder abuse, child safety and other consumer products, professional negligence, premises liability, aircraft litigation, workplace accidents, toxic exposures, fires and explosions, and a variety of business and commercial disputes.
Ms. Braugh, a Native American, was elected in 2004 as a District Court Judge of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation (CPN) of which she is a tribal member. The CPN, a Native American tribe, is headquartered in Shawnee, Oklahoma. On June 26, 2010, Ms. Braugh was elected Associate Supreme Court Justice of the CPN Supreme Court.
